GUILLOTINE/ [GEE-UH-TEEN] NOUN: A mechanical device invented in the 1700s by Dr. Joseph Guillotin to serve as a humane way to execute the death penalty-widely used during the French Revolution. Reinvented in the 1900s by the Gracies to serve as a humane way to choke someone out-widely used during the Gracie Revolution.
APPLICATION: Wrap your arm around your opponent's neck, place the blade of your forearm across their throat, secure your own wrist, arch back and pull the blade upwards to cut off circulation to the brain.
NOTE: Applicable from standing or from the bottom of the guard.
DIAGNOSIS: Loss of consciousness or death.
RECOVERY TIME: Like every other choke, it depends of the mood of the applier.
